There is an exception.
I love Suzukis. They hold a special place in my heart because my first car was a '99 Esteem 1.8 GL.
So am I asking for your opinion on the price/concept of this Kizashi.
!!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!!
I know the parts will start to get scarce eventually. But it's a manual, there is all of 1 in south Florida for sale currently, and there will be no more. (Also, it uses quite a few 2006-2010 Passat platform parts)
R.I.P Athena the Suzuki Esteem - scrapped against its will in June of 2012.

They look great. If you buy it, these wheels are a must.

Done and done.

North Florida must have hoarded all of them then, because I see more than one every day, other than the two in my neighborhood.

Yeah, we have chatted before, I'm in Pensacola but there isn't a single one for sale anywhere near zip 32514. I do see them fairly often to say how little they sold.

I was driving my R the other day, and on my right was a Kizashi. While reminding how much I like them, and how sad I am that they no longer make them, the guy rolled down his window and gave me a thumbs up.
I like Kizashi Owners...
As for that one, I bet you could do better. That one's pretty much a base model with 50K for 10K. New, that probably sold for give or take ~16K.
I'd look around for a more featured one for that price.

It's literally the only manual Kizashi of any year on Autotrader within 200 miles.

That's what shipping/driving is for man!

Would that not defeat the savings though? I doubt they had the manual in anything other than the base model. I mean, I don't want this car specifically, that aftermarket single din radio looks ridiculous and probably rattles. But I don't see a 2 year old midsize car going for much less than that, even with Suzuki's miserable resale value.

I spoke too soon. The market for Kizashi's with a stick is smaller than I thought - a lot smaller. Cars.com pulled up about 20, total!
Here's one in NC that literally identical but $1,500 less. Shipping will probably run you like $500-600. $1,000 is ~$20 a month with good credit.

do you happen to know how much it would cost me to rent one of those U-Haul dollies? I am sure my Panther could tow it no problem, I think the Kizashi is only like 3200 lbs tops. I think that would cost less than shipping, although my gas mileage would tank.

I'm pretty sure the owners like them, though. That's why they are never for sale. I never see one even slightly abused or uncared for.

Greyhound or cheap flight - drive it home

Agh I am so tempted. But what if the deal falls through? I guess I'd have to arrange another flight/trip back. Suzuki, y you so temptress!?

Yeah, It's a major risk. It always helps going to the Suzuki Forum and seeing if anyone is near it and if they could check it out.

You may also consider the Suzuki SX4. I had one as a rental. I was pretty impressed.

I love Suzukis. But finding them at all, let alone manuals, is not an easy task. Suggestion taken.

What do you think?

The SX4 is handsome, the Kizashi is /gorgeous/ IMO. There is also one or two SX4 manual all-wheel-drive crossover thingys about 200 miles from me.
That SX4 I linked to, however, has only 28k miles and the CarFax details oil changes every 4000 miles, so it's been taken care of...
